Canadians cycle to German Open

Only two weeks after the successful team and double world champs in Sofia, the FIR World Tour makes a stop in Nussloch for the German Open from 27 – 29 July. The draws are pretty well filled, especially with many Germans. As it looks the rest of the Racketlon world is on summer holidays. Defending champions are Michi Dickert, who will be onsite as FIR-Delegate and Isabelle Tyrrell who did not sign in. All Olympic draws are now online, the rest of the draws as well as the time schedule will follow shortly on

Ratzer vs. Dickert

Defending champion Michael Dickert will have a hard time in Nussloch, with Jesper Ratzer topseeded. The Dane is the new number two on the FIR world rankings and should face Thorsten Deck in the semis of the 16-men elite draw.  On the lower half the Austrian should have no problems to reach the semis, where either Alex Köpf or Markus Zeoli might be waiting. Wildcards went to Swiss Michael Wagner and Italian Champion Gianpaolo Martire.

Who else but Zeoli?

In the women draw everything else but a victory by Nathalie Zeoli seems like impossible. The world number one faces wildcard player Heike Vogt in the first round and either Paul or Bugl in the semis of the 8-player draw.  On the bottom half it could be a battle between De Bleeckere, Kaptein and Kleb for a place in the final. In women doubles Kleb/De Bleeckere try it together as do Bugl/Kaptein, but again the favourite is Nathalie Zeoli together with junior team world champion Natalie Paul.

Canadians enjoy European Racketlon

No matter who the partner is, Jesper Ratzer can play men doubles practically alone. This time he tries with Broe Larsen and looks like an easy way to the final, where top seeded Deck/Neidhardt could be waiting, but Sültrup/Berkemeier and Villa/Rosso shall not be underestimated. In mixed Zeoli/Ratzer will be unbeatable, but new challengers are +45 seniors world champions Brix/Brix, who decided to extend their cycle trip in Europe after the world champs in Sofia to be able to attend German Open, Welcome!
