Jesper Ratzer retires from Racketlon

World number 1 and four times reigning World Champion in all four categories, Jesper Ratzer, announced on his Facebook page that he retires from racketlon after he has spent five years of his life “on this enjoyable and amazing sport”. Jesper (credit: Inge Omey) is unbeaten for three and a half years, 26 tournaments and 109 straight matches. He feels like he has achieved everything he could ever have wished for (10 World Championships, 2 European championships, 4 Danish championships, 79 international titles, World number 1 in all 3 categories and 5 champions league titles) and now wants to focus on his family life.

The Dane hints that he will be back again to quote the famous words of former World Champion, Magnus Eliasson when he was making his comeback in Enskede 2012 changing only the name from Jesper Ratzer: "I can beat Lukas Windischberger". Until we hopefully see him back on the FIR World Tour to maybe take down Eliassons record for most World Tour tournament wins, Jesper will continue to play squash at a high level in Denmark.

FIR wishes Jesper and his lovely family all the best and hope to see this legend of the sport back
